What's a button worth to you?
At Davis House, a button is worth everything to us because each button represents a child.
According to the most recent census figures, there are almost 70,000 children under the age of 18 in our four-county service area. National statistics tell us that 1 in 10 children will be sexually abused by the time they turn age 18. Statistics also tell us that only 12% of cases of abuse are actually reported to authorities. That means almost 90% of all cases go unreported!
These children are from our community; go to our schools, frequent our centers of worship, live in our neighborhoods and often in our own homes. They come from affluent families we well as from families struggling with poverty, from educated and uneducated parents, and live in economically successful areas and in areas where income is at or below poverty levels and unemployment is high.
Child abuse can happen anywhere!
Davis House Child Advocacy Center depends on your generosity to allow us to provide services AT NO COST to our children to help them heal and smile again. Your contributions help us provide direct services such as our Forensic Interviews, Child and Family Advocacy and Counseling programs, as well as our Child Protective Investigative Team (CPIT) and Prevention Training & Awareness programs. Your contributions also help cover annual operating costs of the center.
Thank you for your support!
